Community Events in Woodland

Woodland is a lively community in the Yolo County region of California. The origins of Woodland can be traced back to 1850 when California was officially granted its statehood. Anyone that steps foot in town can immediately recognize the history and culture that has been cultivated through the small town. Whether you’re a local or a traveler, below I have listed some upcoming events in Woodland that will be appealing for those with a wide variety of interests.

Teen Book Club

Date: Tuesday, April 10, 2018

Time: 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Location: 250 First Street, Woodland, CA, 95695

Admission: Free

The Woodland Public Library is opening their arms to all avid readers between the ages of 12 to 18 on this Tuesday night. All teenagers are encouraged to partake in the Book Club, and all books will be provided by the library. Additionally, there will be some collaborative discussions regarding the current readings. The discussion will focus on the lessons of each book, how it relates to modern society, and the overall opinion on the book.

Bulky Waste Drop-off & Recycling Event

Date: Saturday, April 14, 2018

Time: 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Location: 1250 Gum Avenue, (Use Gibson Road Entrance), Woodland, CA, 95776

Admission: Free

Bring your collection of bulky waste and recyclable belongings to this eco-friendly event, held at Yolo County Fairgrounds. Woodland residents will be able to rid themselves of any waste or recycled items that don’t belong in their standard trash bins. Only non-hazardous items will be accepted, e.g. wood waste, furniture, tires. The full list of acceptable items is online. Only residents that live within the city will be allowed. Attendants are required to bring their driver’s license with a Woodland address,  or a recent copy of a Waste Management bill will also be accepted.

Paint Party with Paint Nite Posse

Date: Saturday, April 14, 2018

Time: 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Location: 750 Dead Cat Alley, Woodland, CA 95695

Admission: $45 tickets

Blue Note Brewing is the place to drink and paint creatively with your friends and family. There will be friendly and energetic painting instructors there to guide you in your artistic endeavors. In just a mere two hours, you will be able to channel your inner Bob Ross onto a blank canvas. Come on by and create something beautiful for yourself!

Woodland Celtic Games & Festival

Date: Saturday, April 28, 2018

Time: 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Location: 1250 Gum Ave, Woodland, CA, 95776

Admission: $6 – $21 tickets

For more than two decades now, the organizers of the Celtic Games and Festival have been dedicated to producing the finest festival experience possible. You can watch the Caber Toss, partake in the Highland dancing, visit the eager vendors and entertainers, and so much more. One thing is for certain – you do not need to be of Celtic heritage to have fun here!
