Yuba City Power Restoration After Rainy Day Collision
PG&E has restored power for over 1,600 customers after Monday’s outage. The cause of this outage was linked to a broken power line after a vehicle collided with a pole. The driver of the vehicle was said to be traveling at an unsafe speed for rainy conditions.
Rainy days- especially some of the first of the season- require a driver’s full attention when behind the wheel of a car.
Roadway and operational impacts caused by rain include:
- Pavement friction
- Limited light reflection
- Visibility distance
- Lane obstruction
- Darkened roads
- Reduced reflectivity
- Windshield glaring
There are several things to focus on while driving in the rain, but the most important is the road in front of you. Be sure to keep a safe distance between your vehicle, the vehicle in front of you, and the road’s shoulder; it is critical to allow yourself time to come to a complete stop safely, especially on slick roads.
Yuba City Police reported only minor injuries as a result of the collision. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
