Yuba County Man Fatally Injured In Local Crash
According to local California Highway Patrol (CHP) officials, a Yuba County man tragically passed away during a recent area car accident that took place on Tuesday, November 26, 2019. The decedent was identified by Yuba County Sheriff’s Department as Baldomero Romero-Lopez, a 31-year-old resident of the small community of Olivehurst. Lopez had been reported missing shortly before police located his wrecked vehicle. An investigation into the circumstances of this accident is ongoing. A GoFundMe page has been created on behalf of the Romero-Lopez family to help cover their loved one’s final resting arrangements.
Crash Details
Yuba-Sutter CHP stated that Lopez had been driving southbound on Highway 70 just prior to the accident. Lopez reportedly entered the off-ramp located at Nicolaus Avenue when he apparently lost control of his Honda sedan. The vehicle traveled off-road and continued a short distance before crashing through a fence and colliding with a nearby barn. Reports indicate that officers aren’t sure of the exact time that the accident occurred, but suspect that it happened during the afternoon.
Investigation
As officers continue to look into what may have caused this tragic accident, no suspected factors have been reported. Single-vehicle collisions can be caused by a wide variety of factors, many of which drivers have no control over. Furthermore, in cases where there are no accident witnesses to tell the police what happened, it can be difficult for investigators to get a complete picture of the events that took place. Often, this means key factors like faulty auto parts or roadway defects aren’t uncovered during investigations. For this reason, it’s vital to contact a wrongful death lawyer who can fully investigate the accident while prioritizing your family’s right to claiming compensation from negligent parties.
Wrongful Death Damages
Losing a family member often has a profound impact on people’s lives. On top of the emotional pain involved in suddenly losing somebody that you love, families often face serious financial issues related to their loss. Fatal accidents can cost families a source of income and/or household services that they rely on to live their lives. Additionally, funeral and burial costs can be shockingly expensive.
While your loved one can’t ever be replaced, families are often able to claim financial compensation for what they’ve lost. By filing a wrongful death claim against insurance companies and/or negligent parties, families can obtain compensation for a wide range of damages that include both economic and personal losses. However, the payments available vary widely depending on your situation, and it is always best to have advice from a seasoned professional before moving ahead with filing a wrongful death claim.
Who Can Recover Compensation for Wrongful Death Claims?
Many people are unsure if they will be able to claim compensation after their loved one has passed away. Typically, direct family members, dependents, and people who relied financially on the decedent are able to file a claim.
