Zamora Fatal Head-On Crash
I’m Ed Smith, a Woodland personal injury attorney. A head-on collision occurred along Interstate 5 in Zamora during the morning hours of Sunday, April 9th, 2017. Unfortunately, both of the motorists passed away due to the grave nature of their injuries.
What Happened?
A woman was behind the wheel of her maroon Mitsubishi Eclipse traveling southbound along Interstate 5 at about 9:55 am. For unknown reasons, the woman allowed her Mitsubishi to cross over the center divide in the vicinity of County Road 96. The Mitsubishi crashed head-on with a woman driving her blue Dodge Caravan northbound along Interstate 5.
California Highway Patrol (CHP) Woodland officers were dispatched to the scene. When authorities arrived, they discovered that both woman succumbed to their injuries.
The woman driving the Mitsubishi Eclipse was identified as 51-year-old Tammy Ketcherside from Woodland. The driver of the Dodge Caravan was identified as 67-year-old Kathleen McBride from Havana, Illinois.

What Caused the Crash?
It is still too soon to determine what caused the head-on crash. It generally takes up to two weeks for authorities to process a Traffic Collision Report. CHP officers are investigating whether drunk driving or speed played as factors in the crash.
