Six Hospitalized After Red Bluff Area Auto Accident
On Tuesday, January 7, 2020, six people were injured during a red bluff area auto accident. Information from California Highway Patrol (CHP) indicates that the crash involved a private charter bus as well as a passenger vehicle. Two boys, aged 17 and 14 years old, were reportedly both sent to nearby hospitals for treatment of major trauma. Additionally, four unidentified individuals were hospitalized for unknown injuries.
Crash Information
According to police, the accident occurred just prior to 8:00 a.m. at the intersection of Gerber Road and Highway 99 between Red Bluff and Corning. The 17-year-old had been driving in a 1990 Ford Mustang with the other teen as a passenger and was heading east on Gerber approaching the intersection. As the Ford entered the intersection, it traveled into the path of a Tehama Area Rural Express bus. Photos of the crash show that the collision ripped off a large portion of the Mustang’s front end.
After receiving a call about the incident, CHP dispatch sent emergency responders to the accident scene. Officers say that they discovered both the driver and passenger of the Mustang were ejected from the vehicle during the collision. The driver was taken to the Redding Mercy Medical Center while the passenger was transported to the Red Bluff St. Elizabeth Hospital. The driver of the bus, as well as three of its passengers, were also hospitalized at the Mercy Medical Center. Updates on the conditions of the injured parties remain unavailable.
Investigation
CHP has stated that they are looking into what factors may have caused this accident. No suspected factors have been reported so far. However, collisions like this one are frequently caused by a variety of common factors, many of which aren’t under the control of drivers. For example, the accident may have happened because a vehicle part malfunctioned and or a dangerous road design made it difficult for drivers to stay safe.
Injuries and Liability
Often, car accident injuries are serious enough to dramatically affect your life. Recovering can be physically and mentally difficult, as well as very expensive. Not only do accident survivors need to pay hospital bills, ambulance fees, and other medical expenses, but they also frequently lose income and/or wages because they are unable to work.
These concerns can leave survivors wondering how they can move forward with their lives, both personally and financially. However, injured parties can seek compensation for their losses by filing personal injury claims. With the help of a top-rate Red Bluff personal injury attorney, survivors often obtain the full amount of money they need to cover the total amount of their losses.
