Two Injured During Lake County Helicopter Accident
Two people suffered injuries during a Lake County helicopter accident that took place on Tuesday, August 4, 2020. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) reported that this accident happened in the morning a couple miles north of Clear Lake. Both injured individuals were reportedly hospitalized following the accident. The cause of the incident is under investigation.
Accident Details
LCSO reported that the crash happened at 9:20 a.m. outside of Clover Valley Road near the Bambi Lane intersection. When deputies reached the scene, they found a small Cavalon Rotorcraft helicopter resting upright in a grassy area. Details about the events leading up to the helicopter accident haven’t been reported.
Responders found that both the pilot and passenger were alert and determined that they had suffered injuries. Both men were flown by separate air ambulances to hospitals, one to Vacaville and the other to Santa Rosa. According to preliminary reports from responders, one of the individuals suffered minor trauma, and the other sustained more severe injuries. However, updates on the extent of their injuries have not been made available.
Investigation
An LCSO spokesman told reporters that his agency had contacted the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration about the accident. He also confirmed that LCSO would be assisting these agencies with an accident investigation, adding that officials from NTSB and the FAA were providing support and direction to investigators on-scene. However, LCSO has stated that they currently do not know what caused the crash. Additionally, reports indicated that the helicopter was privately owned.
The Impact of Accident Injuries
Accident injuries can have a dramatic impact on your life. Firstly, suffering an injury can be painful and often causes a lot of physical and mental stress. In order to fully recover, accident survivors often need months or even years, in addition to extensive medical care and support. Unfortunately, the necessary surgeries, medicines, physical therapy, and other medical care required for injury treatment can be very expensive.
Furthermore, suffering an injury can affect your cognition and/or mobility. Often, this makes it hard or even impossible for people to continue doing their jobs and earning an income. Without this income, survivors often worry over how they’ll be able to afford the medical care they need as well as their normal living expenses.
Calling a Lawyer
Thankfully, injured accident survivors can reach out for help from a Clearlake personal injury attorney. By working with an attorney and pursuing an injury claim, people are often able to hold negligent parties financially responsible and obtain payments for their damages. In many cases, people can recover the full amount of funds they need to pay for medical care and cover lost income.
However, injury cases can be very complicated, and liable parties often attempt to disclaim responsibility. To make sure your lawyer can be as effective as possible, it is important to take quick action and get in touch with them as soon as you can.
