Two-Vehicle Accident In Butte County Results in Injuries
On Monday, September 21, 2020, at least one person was left with significant injuries following an auto accident in Butte County. Local California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers stated that the collision involved two vehicles and happened early at night on a rural road east of Chico. While the nature of the injuries involved has not been reported, responders indicated that the trauma sustained was not life-threatening.
Crash Information
The accident occurred at around 7:28 p.m. on County Road 48 close to the intersection of County Road 99 West, not far from the small community of Willows. According to reports from CHP, the collision involved two vehicles, including a white pickup truck and a silver Chevrolet Malibu. Police stated that the two vehicles both sustained significant damage during the accident and came to a rest blocking both lanes of the small, rural road.
Response
Police were notified about the accident minutes after it occurred and immediately dispatched responders to the site. Response officials arrived at approximately 7:35 p.m. and discovered that at least one of the individuals involved in the crash had sustained injuries. At this time, officers called an ambulance to the site.
Investigation
The roadway was closed to traffic for a period of time while police conducted response and preliminary investigations into what could have caused the collision. So far, no causal factors have been confirmed and CHP reports that the investigation is ongoing. Often multiple-vehicle accidents also involve more than one cause. Causes of serious crashes are also often non-driver factors like malfunctioning car parts, dangerously defective roads, and more.
Accident Injuries
Car accidents involve a lot of force and even a minor accident has the potential to cause serious trauma. Because of this, car accident survivors often suffer major injuries that have a huge impact on their lives. Not only is recovering from major injuries often a painful and mentally stressful process, but recovery can also be prohibitively expensive.
For many common accident injuries, the recovery process requires extensive care that can include invasive surgeries, physical therapy sessions, long-term medication use, and more. Taken altogether, these treatments can add up to an enormous bill. Affording the necessary medical care can be an even bigger challenge if your injury affected your income.
