Crash Fatally Injures Manteca Woman Near Sunol
I’m Ed Smith, a Manteca car accident lawyer. An accident involving two cars occurred along Interstate 680 near Sunol during the evening hours of Labor Day. This collision is reminiscent of other motor vehicle accidents that tend to occur frequently along this stretch of roadway. Such occurrences include recent trucking accidents and multi-vehicle crashes. It is unfortunate that this accident claimed the life of a young Manteca woman.
We would like to send the friends and family of the victim our condolences as they cope with the loss of their loved one.
What Happened?
A 19-year-old woman from Manteca was driving her 2000 BMW northbound along Interstate 680 in the vicinity of Andrade Road at approximately 10:30 pm. For unknown reasons, the woman’s vehicle veered to the right and went into an embankment. The woman allegedly lost control of her vehicle, causing it to roll several times along the right shoulder. The car came to a rest along the far right lane in the southbound lanes of Interstate 680. A 66-year-old woman driving a Dodge was unable to avoid the BMW, resulting in a severe collision. The impact caused the Dodge to spin around along the roadway.
Was Anybody Injured?
The woman driving the Dodge and one of her passengers escaped injuries in the accident. A 65-year-old female passenger in the Dodge suffered chest trauma. It is unknown whether she was hospitalized for her injuries. The driver of the BMW, sadly, succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The Alameda County Coroner’s Office later identified the victim of the BMW as 19-year-old Isabelle Munoz of Manteca.
What Caused the Accident?
Authorities have not yet determined what caused the accident. It usually takes officials one to two weeks to process a Traffic Collision Report. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is in charge of the investigation. They are still investigating whether alcohol or drugs were involved in the crash. A traffic report may sometimes be inconclusive or contain error relating to fault. It is crucial to contact an experienced Manteca car accident lawyer when a victim has passed away in a motor vehicle collision. An experienced attorney can investigate the crash scene and study the sequence of events leading up to the accident to accurately determine liability.
Loved One Forever Remembered
Isabelle Munoz was a young Manteca woman who always smiled and brightened the mood of those around her. She is survived by those who cherished her for her friendly, kind and lovable personality. A GoFundMe account has been set up by the loved ones of the young woman to cover the expenses of her funeral.
