Fatal Vacaville Area Auto Accident

On Monday, January 11, 2021, one person was fatally injured during a Vacaville area auto accident. The collision was first reported by officers of California Highway Patrol (CHP), who indicated that the incident involved only one passenger vehicle and took place in the morning in a rural area just outside of the city. The Solano County Sheriff’s Office is reportedly withholding the decedent’s identity pending official family notification.

Crash Information

CHP reports that the collision occurred at around 7:31 p.m. on Highway Interstate 505 in an unincorporated part of Solano County around two miles north of the northeastern edge of Vacaville. Very few details about the circumstances of this accident have been released. However, CHP traffic reports indicated that the involved vehicle overturned during the incident.

After the accident occurred, it was reported to CHP, and dispatchers sent responders out immediately. When they reached the wreck, responders found the driver of the vehicle critically injured. Tragically, the individual lost their life on-site. According to reports, no other individuals were inside the vehicle at the time of the accident.

Investigation

CHP officers have stated that a full investigation into possible accident factors is currently underway. At this time, officers who are involved with the collision investigation have not stated what, if any, factors they suspect could have played a role in the crash. Often, collisions like this one are complicated events that happen due to multiple causes, many of which may not be under the control of involved drivers. Non-motorist auto accident causes frequently include driving vehicles with defective or poorly built parts as well as using roads that have dangerously damaged pavement, poor lighting, or missing signage.

Private Investigations are Necessary

When police investigate a fatal accident with no survivors, they face a major challenge. Without being able to ask involved parties about what took place, it is very difficult for investigators to fully understand all of the factors that caused the incident. Sadly, if police don’t find particular pieces of evidence, families may not be able to obtain the compensation they deserve through wrongful death claims.

The best way to ensure that a fatal crash is investigated to the fullest possible extent is to work with a skilled Vacaville wrongful death lawyer. Having a lawyer launch their own accident investigation will mean that an experienced professional is committing their time and money toward making sure your family’s rights are protected.

Rollover Accidents and Liability

When a vehicle overturns, it’s likely that a significant amount of force will be put on its roof. When this happens, the roof needs to be well-built, or else it will crush inward, injuring vehicle occupants. When this happens, the company that built the vehicle is often considered partially or fully at-fault for damages caused by the collision.

However, your attorney needs to be able to prove that the vehicle’s roof was weak. This means that it is critical to preserve the wrecked car as evidence for your wrongful death case.
