Dixon Woman Identified After Fatal Vacaville Accident

The coroner’s office of Solano County identified a motorist who passed away in an auto accident near Vacaville on the evening of Thursday, January 25, 2018. The driver was identified as Diane Bond, a 59-year-old resident of Dixon

I extend my condolences to Miss Bond’s friends and family during this difficult time.

Accident Information

California Highway Patrol (CHP) officials reported that the collision happened when Bond had been driving her Saturn Ion eastbound along Highway Interstate 80 close to the exit at Pena Adobe Road near the southern border of Vacaville. A Toyota Camry, also heading eastbound, allegedly struck the driver’s side of Bond’s vehicle.

The sideswipe impact caused Bond to lose control of her Saturn, which veered off of the right-hand shoulder of the highway before colliding head-on with a tree.

Response and Fatality

Emergency medical responders arrived at the scene to find Bond with severe, life-threatening injuries. Bond was taken by ambulance to the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Vacaville for emergency medical procedures but was not able to withstand the severity of her injuries. The county coroner reports that Bond was declared deceased at 7:26 p.m.

Additionally, no other individuals were reported to have been injured in this accident.

Investigation

CHP is currently investigating a report issued by the driver of the Camry indicating that a third vehicle, either a Toyota Sequoia or 4Runner, drove into his lane and forced the Camry to collide with the Saturn. The SUV in question left the scene of the accident immediately.

Phantom Vehicles

If the claims of the Camry driver are valid, this accident would be considered a “phantom vehicle” accident. Phantom vehicle accidents are similar to hit-and-run accidents with a critical difference; in phantom vehicle accidents, the errant vehicle never physically contacts the collision victim or their vehicle.

Wrongful Death

Individuals who have lost somebody in a car accident often find it challenging to deal with day-to-day tasks and almost impossible to focus on things like legal issues. Calling a wrongful death lawyer means that you have an experienced professional taking care of your case for you so that you can focus on healing emotionally.

Calling a wrongful death attorney as soon as you are able can also prevent responsible parties from covering up key evidence and mitigating their liability to pay for the damages they have caused.
