Eureka Crash Injures Two

A Eureka crash sent two people to the hospital on Friday, April 17, 2020. Reports from the Eureka Police Department (RPD) stated that this accident involved two vehicles and happened in the early afternoon in the downtown area of Eureka. While the two injured individuals were hospitalized, updates on their conditions have not been made available. Reportedly, neither party suffered life-threatening trauma.

Crash Details

The crash occurred at about 1:00 p.m. at the intersection of E and 7th Streets. For unknown reasons, a green Kia and a white minivan collided inside of the intersection. After the collision, the minivan ran off the road and crashed head-on into a traffic signal pole. The Kia also traveled off the road and eventually crashed into a nearby fence. Photos of the accident scene show damage to the front of the van as well as to the driver’s side of the Kia.

Responders at the accident scene reportedly found one minor who reported serious abdominal pain. The minor was transported to a nearby hospital for immediate care. One other person, reportedly an adult, was also hospitalized for unspecified injuries.

Investigation of Eureka Crash

While EPD officers are actively looking into what may have caused this collision, there have been no reports regarding suspected factors. Crashes like this one frequently happen for multiple reasons and can be caused by things that you can’t control. Causes outside of driver control include common accident factors like defective auto parts or dangerous intersection design.

Abdominal Injuries

Abdominal injuries sustained in car accidents can be very serious. These injuries have the potential to affect important organs like the pancreas, spleen, liver, kidneys, and small intestine. Issues with any one of these organs can lead to severe health complications and may even be fatal if left untreated.

Recovering from an Injury

Recovering from a serious car accident injury can take time. In many cases, it takes weeks, months, or even years for accident survivors to fully recover physically and personally following their collision. On top of being painful and mentally stressful, the process of recovering after a major car crash can also be very expensive. Paying for medical bills and other related expenses can be difficult, especially if your injury has affected your ability to work.

Contacting an Attorney

Fortunately, crash survivors can often claim compensation for the economic and personal damages they have suffered by filing personal injury claims. A personal injury claim seeks to provide survivors with the compensation they need by holding negligent entities such as reckless drivers, auto product manufacturers, or government bodies responsible for the damages caused during the collision. By getting help from a skilled attorney, many crash survivors are able to obtain accident compensation that provides them with the stability they need in a difficult time.
