Fort Bragg Area Crash Causes Trauma

California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported a Fort Bragg area crash that caused serious injuries and took place on Friday, April 10, 2020. Officers indicated that this car crash involved one vehicle and only a single person was in the car at the time of the collision. Updates on the medical condition of the injured driver haven’t been released and the cause of the crash is under active CHP investigation.

Collision Details

The crash was reported to CHP at around 2:28 p.m. Information from CHP shows that the collision occurred on State Route 20 just west of County Road 800 near Water Gulch in Jackson State Forest. Details regarding how the crash took place have not been provided, however, police did report that the vehicle came to a stop in the highway’s westbound lane, marking it as a potential traffic hazard.

Response

Agencies responding to the incident included CHP as well as the Department of Forestry. When responders arrived, they reportedly discovered the driver inside of their vehicle with significant injuries and called for an ambulance. Whether or not the injured individual was hospitalized or treated at the scene has not been made clear.

Single-Vehicle Collisions

Single-vehicle crashes happen all the time. With multiple vehicle accidents, people are often able to claim personal injury compensation by holding negligent drivers responsible for their reckless actions. However, crashes like this one only involve one person, leaving many crash survivors wondering how they can obtain payments to cover their losses.

The answer is that there are many accident factors that aren’t under the control of any driver. In some cases, a malfunctioning vehicle part such as brakes or tires throws a vehicle off-course. In others, an issue with the road such a large pothole or lack of signage cause drivers to make dangerous maneuvers. In both of these cases, there can be negligent parties other than the involved driver. With defective car parts, auto product sellers, retailers, and manufacturers may be responsible while with roadway defects, government entities often have full or partial liability.

Contacting an Attorney

Being seriously injured can cause a lot of stress, leaving many accident survivors feeling stressed and overwhelmed. This stress can make it hard to handle the demands of your daily life, which causes many survivors to think of calling an attorney as additional stress. For this reason, many people delay contacting a lawyer about their case.

However, negligent parties are almost always quick to begin trying to disclaim responsibility for the accident. The sooner your lawyer can get to work investigating your crash and putting together a strong case, the better they can protect your right to claiming compensation for your losses.
