Good Samaritan Saves Person from Lake Tahoe Boat Fire
On Monday, July 20, 2020, a good Samaritan rescued a man from a Lake Tahoe boat fire. The man on the boat was identified as a 43-year-old and information from local authorities indicated that he did not suffer injuries as a result of this incident. Reportedly, no other individuals were on the boat at the time of the fire.
What Happened?
A news release from the US Coast Guard indicated that authorities are not sure what initially ignited the fire on the 26-foot Cobalt boat, but mentioned that there were around 40 gallons of fuel on the vessel that made for an intense blaze. The fire started while the boat was out on the northwest side of Lake Tahoe close to Dollar Point.
As the boat burned, a witness helped the occupant escape. By the time the Coast Guard crews arrived, the boater had already been rescued. At this time, the man was evaluated by paramedics, who did not immediately find any trauma. Staff from the Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection Unit responded to the fire and extinguished it before the boat sank. According to reports, the vessel sank around 21 feet into the water and workers will attempt to salvage it.
Burn Injuries
With incidents like this one, there is a huge chance for people to sustain burn injuries. Burn injuries can be extremely painful, and the process of recovering from one can be complicated. With many burn injuries, survivors need multiple reconstructive surgeries. Additionally, burns are likely to cause intense scarring, which can have a major impact on your mental health.
Importantly, all of the medical care associated with recovering from a burn injury can be very expensive. Many people who suffer burn trauma are worried that they won’t be able to pay for the care that they need. Furthermore, being injured can affect your ability to earn an income, making it nearly impossible to afford treatment.
Calling an Attorney
After serious accidents, it’s important to reach out to an experienced injury attorney in order to get advice about your case. For many, it’s possible to recover compensation by holding at-fault parties liable for the damages you’ve suffered as a result of the accident. Liable parties can include negligent individuals as well as government entities and private companies.
Finding an Excellent Lawyer
One of the main reasons that people delay reaching out to a lawyer is that they don’t know how to find an attorney they know they can trust. However, getting in touch with a skilled and experienced attorney doesn’t need to be difficult. With easy access to information through the internet, it’s easier than ever to find a qualified attorney to help you with your case. Learn more by taking a moment to watch this video:
