On Thursday, September 3, 2020, a car crash in Fairfield left at least one person with serious injuries. According to information reported by California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash took place at night and involved two vehicles. The number of people injured during the accident and the severity of the injuries sustained have not yet been reported. The cause of the crash is being investigated.
Collision Information
The collision reportedly occurred at about 6:58 p.m. on eastbound Highway Interstate 80 at the Abernathy Road off-ramp. According to police reports, the accident involved a Blue Dodge Durango as well as a Gray Kia SUV. As a result of the crash, one vehicle was left wrecked in the number one lane of the highway while the other was on the right-hand shoulder. Additionally, the Kia sustained major damage to its front end and had to be towed away from the site. Further details about the circumstances of the accident remain unavailable.
Responders arrived at the scene at around 7:05 p.m. and determined that at least one person was hurt and called for an ambulance.
Investigation
As CHP investigators attempt to determine what caused this crash, so far no likely factors have been mentioned. Often, collisions that involve more than one vehicle also involve multiple causal factors. Furthermore, it’s common for accidents to involve non-driver causes such as issues with defective vehicle parts or dangerous roads.
The Impact of An Accident Injury
Suffering an in injury during a car accident can have a dramatic impact on your life. Because car accidents involve so much force, vehicle drivers and passengers are liable to sustain a wide range of serious injuries, including:
- Bone fractures
- Internal injuries
- Spinal cord injuries
- Traumatic brain injuries
- Cervical sprains
- Amputation injuries
- Lacerations
All of the above injuries can be severe and injured collision survivors often face a long road to recovery. For many, the recovery process can take years and may involve prolonged medical treatment that includes therapy, surgeries, medications, and more. Often, going through the recovery process is particularly stressful because crash survivors are left unable to take part in things they care about, or, in some cases, perform their jobs. Lost income, taken together with medical expenses, can leave crash survivors in a situation where they are unsure of how to move forward.
Getting Help
While the issues that accident survivors deal with are very serious, it is possible to get help and many people are able to recover full compensation for the damages they’ve suffered. This can be accomplished by getting in touch with a Fairfield personal injury lawyer and seeking payments from at-fault parties and/or their insurers.
While many people are able to obtain compensation this way, injury claims can be very complicated, and negligent parties frequently put up a fight. For this reason, it’s critical to have help from an experienced lawyer who knows how to make sure you are fairly compensated for your losses.
