Vacaville Car Crash Shuts Down City Intersection
On Friday, January 10, 2020, a Vacaville car crash shut down a major city intersection and left at least two people with serious injuries. The collision happened at night in central Vacaville and involved multiple vehicles. Responders reported that none of the injuries sustained during the accident appeared to be life-threatening. Additionally, this collision is being investigated by the Vacaville Police Department (VPD).
Crash Details
VPD reports state that the accident occurred just before 10:40 p.m. at the intersection of Peabody and Elmira Roads. Details about the events leading up to the accident were not reported. However, police indicated that the crash caused one involved vehicle to roll and land on its side, leaving two people trapped inside the wreck. Firefighters extricated the trapped occupants using heavy machinery.
Investigation
The intersection was shut down while first responders attended to the accident and remained closed while VPD investigators searched the scene for evidence. According to traffic reports, the intersection was cleared within an hour, and traffic returned to normal. Police have not yet indicated what, if any, factors they believe could have been a part of the crash.
Auto accidents can be complicated and are sometimes caused by multiple factors. In many cases, one or more of these factors isn’t something that involved drivers are able to control. For example, a faulty brake system or large pothole can force a vehicle into a dangerous accident.
Rollover Collisions
When a vehicle overturns, there’s a much higher chance that its occupants will suffer a serious or even fatal injury. One of the key reasons that these accidents are so dangerous is that, often, vehicle roofs aren’t strong enough to withstand a major impact. In these cases, the company that manufactured the vehicle can sometimes be considered at fault because they failed to ensure the safety of their product. This means that auto companies can often be held financially responsible for the damages caused during the crash.
Calling an Attorney
If you’ve been hurt in a crash, it’s likely that you are going through a very stressful period of time. Being injured is painful, and the recovery process is often difficult. During such a time, many people want to delay calling an attorney. However, liable parties usually begin trying to defend themselves right away, and having legal representation early on in an injury case can be critical. The sooner that an attorney can start investigating the accident and putting together a strong case, the better your chances are of obtaining the full amount of compensation you deserve.
