Free Screening of “Storied Streets”

Contra Costa Health, Housing, and Homeless Services Division is excited to be presenting a viewing of the groundbreaking documentary, “Storied Streets” by award-winning filmmaker Thomas Morgan. Following the movie screening will be a short discussion regarding Contra Costa’s rate of homelessness, as this screening is meant to increase homelessness awareness. This free event will be taking donations, which will go towards Contra Costa’s Housing Security Fund.
Exploring the Antioch Sand Dunes
Date: Saturday, January 13, 2018
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Location: Fulton Shopyard Rd, Antioch, CA 94509
Admission: Free
On the 2nd Saturday of every month, nature lovers get the opportunity to explore this scenic refuge that is typically closed off to the public. This family friendly tour of the Antioch Dunes is led by a trained docent. There will be a 1-1.5 mile hike, so make sure you bring sturdy shoes that can handle the dunes. Latin Jazz Night with Pete Escovedo At Southern Cafe
Date: Saturday, January 13, 2018
Time: 7:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. showings
Location: 400 G St, Antioch, CA 94509
Admission: $40-$60 tickets
Antioch’s Southern Cafe is proud to be presenting all foodie and music lovers with the one and only, Pete Escovedo! His Latin jazz orchestra will be taking the stage for two shows, the first beginning at 7:00 p.m. and the latter performance starting at 9:30 p.m. Admission options will include general seating, preferred seating, and VIP. Both performances are expected to sell out – buy your tickets while you still have the chance.
Coffee with the Cops
Date: Wednesday, January 29, 2018
Time: 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Location: 300 L St, Antioch, CA 94509
Admission: Free
Held at the community room of Antioch’s Police Department, this casual coffee with the cops workshop promotes improved communication between the police department and local citizens. Members of Antioch’s Crime Prevention Commission will be in attendance, and they are prepared to participate in an informative Q&A. The primary focus of this workshop will be an open discussion regarding public safety, crime statistics, and other community issues.
