Major Injuries Suffered in Auto Accident Near Marysville
On Friday, December 11, 2020, multiple people were left with injuries as the result of an auto accident near Marysville. California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports indicated that at least one of the injured individuals sustained major trauma and that multiple people were hospitalized. The accident involved two vehicles and happened during the evening in a rural location. Additionally, CHP officers are currently investigating possible causes of this crash.
Collision Details
CHP reports indicated that this accident occurred on Marysville Road near the intersection of Collins Lake Road. At approximately 5:23 p.m., a white Honda sedan and a MiniVan headed in opposite directions on the highway entered an S curve. While navigating the curve, the two vehicles crashed head-on. Further details about the circumstances leading up to this crash haven’t been reported. CHP indicated that both highway lanes were blocked by the wrecked vehicles.
Response
Responders were alerted to the accident shortly after it occurred and arrived on-scene at 5:33 p.m. Emergency responders at the crash site determined that multiple individuals had sustained trauma and called for rapid-response ambulances. At least one of the injured individuals was taken to Rideout Memorial Hospital. Updates on their conditions had not been provided at the time of reporting.
Investigation
While CHP is actively investigating the accident, officers involved with the investigation haven’t released any information regarding suspected causes. With accidents that involve multiple vehicles, there are often multiple factors that contributed to causing the incident. Furthermore, many common crash factors are not driver-related. Examples of non-driver collision causes include driving vehicles with malfunctioning parts or using roads with serious pavement defects.
Head-On Collisions
Head-on car accidents are some of the most severe collisions that can happen. This is largely because both vehicles transfer their full momentum into each other, multiplying the amount of force involved in the crash. Even though vehicles are usually designed to absorb impacts to the front-end, head-on crashes almost always involve major or fatal injuries when they occur at speeds of 55 miles per hour or more.
Recovering After A Major Injury
Crash survivors can be left in a difficult situation. Many sustain injuries that require an extensive amount of medical care, all of which can be very expensive. Furthermore, crash survivors are also often temporarily or even permanently disabled, meaning that they may no longer be able to perform their jobs and earn an income.
To make sure that you have financial security following a crash, it’s important to contact a trusted attorney about filing a personal injury claim. By doing so, it is often possible for people who’ve been hurt during car accidents to recover the payments that they need to fully cover their medical bills, income loss, and more.
