Motorcyclist Hurt in Vacaville Auto Accident on Midway Road

On Saturday, June 6, 2020, a motorcyclist suffered injuries after being involved in a Vacaville auto accident on the northern edge of the city. Police indicated that the accident took place in the early afternoon and involved two vehicles, including a motorcycle and a USPS truck. According to information from California Highway Patrol (CHP), the motorcyclist was seriously injured during the incident. Updates on the survivor’s health condition haven’t been provided by hospital staff.

Collision Information

The collision occurred at about 12:26 p.m. at the intersection of Midway Road and Timm Road in the Hartley area. Details about the events leading up to the accident had not been released by officials at the time of reporting. However, officials assisting with accident response indicated that the motorcyclist was discovered with critical injuries at the scene of the crash and was rushed to a nearby hospital to be given emergency medical care.

Investigation

CHP officials have stated that they are actively investigating possible causes of this collision. So far, investigators have not stated what factors, if any, they suspect to have been involved. Motorcycle accidents happen often, and are caused by a number of factors. In many cases, more than one significant factor causes the accident. Often, people are injured in collisions that involve things neither motorcyclists nor drivers are able to control. Common non-driver accident factors include roadway defects, motorcycle or vehicle part issues, and more.

Motorcyclist Injuries

Motorcyclists tend to be careful drivers, but they are very vulnerable in the event of an accident. Often, motorcyclists who survive car accidents are left with injuries that have a major impact on their life. Common motorcyclist injuries include:

All of these can be very painful, and have the potential to have a financial impact on your life. Being injured often comes along with a long, difficult recovery process as well as a host of medical bills. Furthermore, many injured motorcyclists are unable to work for a period of time after their accident, resulting in lost income or earning potential.

Government Vehicles and Personal Injury Claims

In order to make sure you have the funds you need to pay for medical care and have stability while you recover, it’s important to talk with an attorney about filing a personal injury claim and obtaining compensation for your losses.

However, with cases involving government vehicles, claiming compensation can be more difficult. Importantly, these cases need to be reported within a shorter period of time. While most accident cases can be filed up to two years after a collision happens, government-involved cases need to be filed within six months (180 days). For this reason, it’s important to act quickly if you’ve been hurt during a collision involving a government-owned vehicle.
