One Injured in Butte City Crash
On Wednesday, March 18, 2020, one man suffered significant trauma during a Butte City Crash. According to officers of the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the accident happened in the afternoon and involved two vehicles, one of which was hauling an equipment transportation trailer. While two other individuals were involved in the accident, neither of them suffered any injuries.
Crash Information
The collision occurred at around 2:30 p.m. on State Route 162 in Butte City to the west of the Shasta Street intersection. A 24-year-old man was driving a Chevy Silverado and hauling a home built trailer eastbound on the highway, approaching a 90-degree turn in the road. At the same time, a 45-year-old Vina man was driving a Ford F-250 eastbound on 162, following behind the other truck.
Police say that the trailer attached to the Silverado overturned as the driver navigated the turn. The Ford driver reportedly saw the trailer overturned and attempted to make collision avoidance maneuvers. The trailer kept rolling, turning on to its left side and striking the driver’s side of the Ford. The impact reportedly caused major damage to the truck. The drivers were reportedly both able to pull their vehicles over to the roadway shoulder.
Response
Responders reaching the accident scene found that the Ford driver had sustained injuries to his arm. However, the severity of these injuries has not been reported. Neither the Chevy driver nor the passenger of the Ford, a 36-year-old woman, were injured.
Investigation
As CHP authorities are investigating this accident, officers have indicated that driving at unsafe speeds may have played a role. No other suspected collision factors have been mentioned so far. In many cases, accidents like this one happen due to things that aren’t under driver control. For instance, a faulty accelerator pedal or serious defect in the pavement can cause a driver to make an unsafe maneuver, resulting in a crash.
Claiming Fair Compensation
Injuries have the potential to affect our lives in a number of very serious ways. Suffering an accident injury can mean needing to take time off work, resulting in a loss of wages. Furthermore, recovering from an injury can require extensive medical care, leaving collision survivors with a number of expensive bills. Altogether, the financial impact, physical pain, and mental stress suffered as the result of car accidents can leave survivors feeling overwhelmed.
However, it’s possible to get help by working with an area car accident lawyer to file an injury claim and obtain compensation from at-fault parties and/or their insurance companies. By filing a claim, survivors of auto accidents are often able to fully cover their lost wages and medical bills, as well as property damage to their vehicle and more. However, these claims can be complex, and liable parties often try to disclaim responsibility. For these reasons, it’s important to have advice from an experienced professional before taking any legal action.
