Pedestrian Accidents
Pedestrians are very vulnerable in the event of a crash and can sustain severe injuries even in collisions where vehicles are moving very slowly. In Butte County, accidents involving pedestrians had a fatality rate of over 15 percent. This means that pedestrian collisions in Butte County are five times more likely to result in an injury that costs somebody their life.
Some of the more common serious injuries that pedestrians suffer during car accidents include:
- Bone fractures
- Traumatic brain injuries
- Chest trauma
- Amputation injuries
- Spinal cord injuries
All of these injuries have the potential to seriously affect your life and recovering from an injury can take time, patience, and, unfortunately, can be expensive as well.
How Will I Be Able to Recover From My Injuries?
After suffering injuries during a vehicle accident, people are often left in a difficult situation. Because car accident injuries can be severe, survivors frequently need long hospital stays as well as multiple medical procedures and extended physical therapy. While many people are able to regain their mobility and health, the costs related to recovery can be prohibitive. Additionally, being injured often leaves survivors unable to continue earning an income. For these reasons, it is important to contact a personal injury lawyer as soon as possible following a car accident. A good attorney will be able to help you find out whether or not you may be able to obtain compensation for your injuries by filing a personal injury claim. In many cases, survivors and their families are able to recover the full amount of compensation that they need to regain their health and return to their daily lives without worrying about finances.
