Paradise Crash Leaves One Injured – According to information from the Paradise Police Department (PPD), one man was left with serious injuries after a vehicle collision that took place on Tuesday, October 16, 2018. The accident happened during the morning on a city road in Paradise and involved multiple vehicles. Police identified the injured man as Jacob Madrid Barrett, a 34-year-old Paradise resident. Updates on Mr. Barrett’s condition were not immediately available. Police are currently investigating some possible factors related to the traumatic accident.

Crash Details

The collision occurred just before 8:45 a.m. According to PPD, two vehicles had been driving on Skyway close to the intersection of BayTree Drive in the crossroads area. While details about how the accident actually happened are currently unknown, the two vehicles crashed into each other, causing major damage.

PPD immediately sent responders to the crash site after receiving a call notifying them of a possible injury collision. Arriving emergency response officials reported that Barrett was found trapped inside the wreckage of his vehicle. Barrett was extricated from his car with the use of heavy machinery. After freeing Barrett, responders put him on an ambulance and took him to the Enloe Medical Center to receive treatment for serious trauma.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 46-year-old Paradise resident, was not injured during the accident. Both cars were totaled during the crash and had to be removed from the site by a tow truck.

Investigation

While PPD is investigating the accident, officers haven’t mentioned what factors they suspect to have been at play. Investigators are asking that anyone with information about the crash to contact PPD by using their non-emergency phone number, (530) 872-6241.
