Placerville Area Crash Fatally Injures Local Man
Local authorities reported that one person lost his life in a car accident that took place in the Placerville area recently. The decedent was identified by the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office as a 60-year-old resident of the small community of Somerset. The man’s full identity will reportedly not be released until his family is properly notified. According to the Placerville area California Highway Patrol (CHP), the accident took place on a rural roadway and only involved one individual. My sympathy is with the loved ones of the decedent who are grieving over the loss of their family member and friend.
Crash Information
According to CHP, the accident happened at about 4:15 on Grizzly Flat Road. The man had been driving his vehicle westbound approaching Mt. Aukum Road at a speed of around 60 miles per hour. Police say that the vehicle veered right before turning left and crossing over the eastbound lane, eventually exiting the road. The vehicle reportedly traveled only a short distance before striking a nearby tree.
When responders arrived at the accident site, they discovered the driver had suffered critical injuries during the accident. Sadly, he could not overcome his severe injuries and was declared deceased before he could be placed on an ambulance.
Dealing With Fatal Accidents
After a person you care about suddenly passes away, it’s common to go through a period of grieving. This often includes coping with some intense emotions such as confusion, depression, anger, and anxiety. Healing emotionally after such a traumatic event can take time and the grieving process is different for everyone. However, one important aspect of handling fatal accidents is making sure your family obtains the financial compensation they need to cover their losses.
In fatal car accidents, the decedent is no longer alive to give their own account of the accident. This can leave the family they leave behind with many, unanswered questions. When this happens, it is important to contact an attorney who can conduct a private investigation. Having someone on your side with experience handling fatal accidents means that you may be able to hold vehicle manufacturers, phantom drivers, insurers, or other parties responsible for the damages they have caused. To learn more about this, speak to a Placerville wrongful death lawyer right away.
Recoverable Damages
Taking time to heal can be hard when you need to worry about funeral and burial expenses, lost income, and other costs related to the accident. Because accidents can affect our lives in many ways, the available compensation in wrongful death cases typically covers a wide variety of damages. These can include payments for both economic and personal losses, including the loss of a spouse or domestic partner, loss of parental guidance, and more.
