Red Bluff Area Crash Kills Motorcyclist, Injures Passenger
On Saturday, October 12, 2019, a Red Bluff area crash left one person with fatal injuries. The decedent was identified on Wednesday, October 17, 2019, as Anthony Keller, a 58-year-old man from Red Bluff. In addition to the decedent, one more individual suffered major injuries. The injured person was identified as 59-year-old Robin Keller, also from Red Bluff. According to police reports, the crash only involved a single vehicle and is currently being investigated by California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Crash Information
The crash happened at around 10:25 p.m. on Jellys Ferry Road nearby the Julie Lane intersection a few miles north of Red Bluff. Anthony Keller had been driving a 2015 Harley Davidson motorcycle with Robin Keller as a passenger. The vehicle was heading east when, for reasons that are not currently understood, Keller lost control of his vehicle and drove off the road. The motorcycle reportedly traveled down a steep embankment, throwing both driver and passenger to the ground.
When response officials reached the scene of the crash, they found that Anthony Keller had suffered severe injuries. Tragically, medical responders could not help him and he passed away on-scene. Robin Keller was rushed to the Mercy Medical Center in Redding via helicopter. Updates on her condition remain unavailable at this time.
Investigation
As police look into possible causes of this incident, no suspected factors have been reported. In many cases, accidents like this one happen because of something outside of a driver’s control. This can mean a defective auto part, reckless driver, or hazard in the road forcing the vehicle into a collision. However, it can be difficult for investigators to notice these factors when the driver involved in the crash is unable to tell police what happened. In order to make sure that the accident is investigated thoroughly, it’s important to contact an attorney who can look into the circumstances of the crash themselves.
Depending on what factors were involved in the crash, your family may be owed compensation for the damages you’ve suffered. In cases where a negligent party is at fault for the accident, families can often recover for a wide range of losses that include lost income, pain and suffering, medical expenses, funeral costs, and more. While it isn’t possible to replace a loved one, recovering these payments can provide families with the stability they need to begin the process of emotional healing after such a traumatic event has affected their lives.
How Do I Find The Right Lawyer?
One reason that people delay contacting an attorney after a wrongful death case is because they don’t know how they can find a lawyer who is worthy of trust. Wrongful death cases are very emotionally charged and it’s important to have an attorney who is both highly skilled and compassionate toward your situation.
