Red Bluff Man Seriously Hurt During Orland Collision
A man from Red Bluff suffered serious injuries during an Orland collision that took place on Friday, August 28, 2020. The accident reportedly happened in the morning and involved two separate passenger vehicles. In addition to the Red Bluff man, one other person reportedly suffered minor injuries during the accident. The cause of the crash is currently under a California Highway Patrol (CHP) investigation.
Crash Details
The accident occurred at about 8:20 a.m. on County Road 9. According to police officers, a 69-year-old man from Red Bluff was driving east in a vehicle of unreported make and model when he attempted to make a left-hand turn onto First Avenue. At this time, a 2004 Ford Ranger being driven by a 27-year-old Orland woman struck the Red Bluff man’s vehicle from behind. The extent of the damage to the vehicles has not been reported.
Response
After the accident was reported to the police, emergency responders were immediately dispatched to the area. When they reached the site, responders found that the Red Bluff man was seriously hurt. The man was reportedly driven via ambulance to the Enloe Hospital in Chico. The driver of the Ford reportedly complained of pain to responders but was not hospitalized. No other vehicles or individuals were reported to have been involved in this accident.
Investigation of the Orland Collision
While officials are investigating what could have caused this accident, no likely causes have been mentioned in police reports. Often, car accidents that involve multiple vehicles also involve more than one causal factor, and many common accident causes are not things that drivers have control over. Non-driver car accident causes frequently include defective car parts such as tires, steering systems, or brakes as well as roadway hazards like damaged pavement or missing signage.
Common Accident Injuries
Car accidents involve a lot of force, and vehicle occupants often suffer serious injuries. Common car accident injuries include:
- Spinal cord trauma
- Bone fractures
- Internal injuries
- Traumatic brain injuries
- Lacerations
- Cervical sprains
All of these injuries can have a major impact on your life. Not only do accident survivors often face a long, difficult recovery process, but being injured can cause major financial issues. The necessary medical care for accident injuries is often very expensive, and being seriously injured can affect your ability to earn an income. In many cases, injured people worry about how they will afford their recovery.
Calling an Attorney
Fortunately, crash survivors facing these issues can reach out for help. By contacting an experienced lawyer and pursuing a personal injury case, injured people can seek to claim compensation from at-fault parties. Payments from injury claims often cover not only medical expenses, but damages such as personal suffering, lost income, and more.
