Redding Area Motorcycle Accident Results in Major Injuries
On Wednesday, April 7, 2021, two people sustained severe injuries during a Redding area motorcycle accident. California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the accident occurred at night just northwest of Redding. According to information from police, the accident involved an RV and a single motorcycle. While both the motorcycle rider and passenger were hospitalized, the hospital has not provided updates on their conditions.
Crash Details
The accident took place on Iron Mountain Road close to the intersection of Keswick Dam Road at about 7:20 p.m. According to CHP, the motorcycle was driving north on Iron Mountain behind a large RV. The RV reportedly performed a left-hand turn, and the motorcycle struck its rear-end. As a result, both the motorcyclist and passenger were thrown onto the highway.
Police were contacted by phone after the crash and rushed a team of responders out to the scene. Upon reaching the site, emergency officials discovered that both motorcycle occupants were severely hurt and had them transported by ambulance to a regional hospital to receive emergency care.
Investigation
CHP has stated that their officers are actively trying to figure out what factors caused this scratch. In many cases, motorcycle/vehicle collisions happen because of a mix of causes. Furthermore, it’s common for accidents to involve non-driver causes like malfunctioning brakes or dangerously designed roads. In situations like these, a party such as a car part company or government body may be considered a negligent party and held financially liable following the collision.
Recovering from Motorcycle Accident Injuries
Being injured in a motorcycle accident can have a huge impact on your life. The road to recovery is often mentally stressful, physically painful, and highly expensive. Motorcycle accident injuries can require multiple surgeries in addition to physical therapy, medications, and more. Sadly, affording the necessary medical care can often be very hard, especially when accident injuries leave people unable to perform their job and earn an income. Furthermore, many motorcycle accident survivors also need to hire help around their homes while they recover.
Getting Help
Altogether, it’s common for these issues to leave motorcyclists feeling completely overwhelmed. However, it is possible to reach out for assistance from a Redding motorcycle accident attorney. By working with a lawyer and filing a personal injury claim, motorcyclists can frequently obtain full compensation for the damages that they’ve suffered including payments for medical bills as well as for lost income, personal suffering, vehicle damage, and more.
