ATV Rider Rescued After Rural Crash Near Paradise
On Sunday, February 21, 2021, one person was seriously hurt after being involved in a serious crash near Paradise. The Butte County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) reported the accident and indicated that it happened in the early evening in a rural location outside of Stirling City. The ATV rider was reportedly sent to the hospital with serious injuries as a result of the crash, and updates on their condition have not yet been reported.
Crash Details
The accident happened at around 4:45 p.m. on Doe Mill Road. BCSO reports that the driver apparently lost control of the ATV for unknown reasons, and, as a result, the vehicle left the road. After the vehicle drove off-road, it plummeted 30 feet down steep terrain, and the rider was thrown to the ground at the bottom.
After the incident was reported, BCSO sent emergency response teams to the area. Upon arrival, responders found the ATV rider was injured and conducted an emergency extrication using a rope system. After recovering the rider, paramedics loaded them onto a helicopter ambulance. The rider was subsequently flown to the Enloe Medical Center in Chico to be given emergency medical attention.
Investigation of Crash Near Paradise
Local authorities are investigating the cause of the accident at this time, but have not stated any factors that could possibly have been involved. In many cases, ATV crashes happen for reasons that the rider isn’t able to control at all. For instance, the ATV could have had a malfunctioning accelerator or steering system, making it impossible for the rider to avoid an accident. In situations involving non-driver collisions, parties like the vehicle manufacturer frequently share financial responsibility for damages incurred during the incident.
Accident Injuries
Vehicle accidents often cause injuries that have a major impact on survivors’ lives, and the recovery process is often a difficult journey. Not only is recovery often both a painful and stressful process, but the necessary treatment can be highly expensive. Sadly, affording quality medical care can be especially hard for survivors who have suffered injuries that affect their ability to work and earn an income. For this reason, crash survivors may worry over how they will be able to pay for surgeries, ambulances, hospital stays, and other medical expenses.
Getting Help
Thankfully, accident survivors can reach out for assistance from a personal injury attorney. By filing a claim against insurance companies and at-fault parties, it’s often possible to claim full compensation to cover not only medical expenses and lost income, but damages related to your personal suffering as well. If you would like to know more about the damages that might be available to you specifically, it’s best to seek personal advice from a lawyer in your area.
