One Killed in Auburn Area Crash

According to the Auburn California Highway Patrol (CHP), a semi-truck collision that took place in Placer County left one person with fatal trauma. The Placer County Sheriff’s Department has not yet identified the decedent. According to CHP, the collision took place a few miles west of Auburn on Highway 65 near the intersection of Nelson Lane.

CHP has not reported details regarding how the collision took place but indicated that a passenger vehicle and a large commercial truck were involved. While reports confirmed that one individual involved in the accident passed away on-scene, whether or not any other individuals were injured remains unreported.

Investigation of Truck Collision Near Auburn

CHP has indicated that they are currently looking into what may have caused this tragic accident. However, no likely factors have been mentioned in official reports.

Collisions involving one or more decedents can be difficult to investigate because one or more involved parties are unable to tell police their version of events. Because police are missing decedent testimony, it’s possible for important collision factors such as defective roads or malfunctioning vehicle parts to go unnoticed. As a consequence, responsible parties may not be held liable for damages.

In order to ensure that the accident is fully investigated with you and your family’s right to claim wrongful death compensation as a priority, it’s critical to get in touch with an Auburn personal injury lawyer who knows how to handle a case like yours. An experienced attorney will be able to commit their skills and resources to make sure the accident is properly investigated.

Quick Action

Semi-trucks are huge, weighing tens of thousands of pounds. Because of their size and weight, they carry a massive amount of momentum and can easily cause extreme damage in the event of a collision. The companies that own and operate big-rigs are well aware of the risks that come along with driving such large vehicles and are typically ready to take action as soon as a crash takes place. In most cases, the company will send out a legal response team to the crash site itself in order to gather their own evidence and witness statements. By doing this, trucking companies hope to shield themselves from any liability they may have.

While the period of time after a fatal collision can be very difficult, it’s important to make sure that you reach out to an attorney as soon as you are able. Not only will having a lawyer early on help you to hold negligent parties accountable for their actions but knowing that an experienced professional is handling your case can help you and your family feel secure and focus on spending time healing emotionally.
