Teenager Killed During Vacaville Auto Crash on Browns Valley Road
On Thursday, June 11, 2020, a local teenager tragically lost his life during a Vacaville auto accident in the area of Browns Valley. The decedent has been identified by Solano County Sheriff’s Office officials as an 18-year-old Vacaville resident. The crash involved two vehicles and, in addition to the decedent, left one other person with injuries. Vacaville Police Department (VPD) officers have reported that the incident is being investigated at this time.
Crash Information
The accident happened on the northern side of Vacaville at around 8:00 p.m. The teenager had been driving north on Browns Valley Road in a Chevrolet El Camino when he entered the intersection at Tipperary Drive. As he navigated the intersection, his vehicle was broadsided by a Toyota SUV that had been westbound on Tipperary.
Response
Responders were rushed to the accident scene after the incident was reported and, upon arrival, discovered the teenage driver was badly injured and trapped inside of his vehicle. The boy was extricated from his car before paramedics Vacaville firefighters attempted to perform life-saving emergency medical procedures. Sadly, the teenager could not be recovered and passed away on-site.
The driver of the second vehicle was only identified as a woman from Vacaville in her 40s. The woman reportedly suffered non-life-threatening injuries during the accident and was taken to a local hospital for further care.
Investigation
As they are looking into possible causal factors of the accident, VPD has reported that driver intoxication is not suspected to have been involved. Collisions involving multiple vehicles also often involve more than one causal factor and many common accident causes are not under driver control. Non-driver auto accident causes include faulty car parts, dangerously designed roads, and more.
Furthermore, investigating a deadly accident can be difficult for police, especially if they are unable to question the decedent and get their side of the story. When investigators don’t have access to a driver’s testimony, it can leave critical holes in their investigation and may mean that important evidence will not be uncovered. To be sure that somebody is investigating the accident to the fullest extent possible, you should always reach out to a trusted Vacaville personal injury lawyer. Having an attorney investigate the crash will mean that an experienced professional is committing their resources and skills toward making sure your family’s rights are protected during investigations.
