Trucker Suffers Serious Trauma During Suisun Rollover
One person was left with major injuries during a Suisun rollover that happened on Saturday, September 28, 2019. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that this accident only involved a single vehicle, a large commercial tractor-trailer. The driver of the vehicle was reportedly the only person who suffered injuries during this accident. Additionally, CHP says that their investigators are currently trying to determine what caused the collision to take place.
Crash Details
The collision took place in the morning on Highway 12 near Webster Street on the Northwestern edge of Suisun. A big-rig of unidentified make and model was driving on the highway when it drifted to the right and off the road. After exiting the road, the truck overturned and rolled down an embankment, crashing into a homeless encampment located below the highway. Thankfully, none of the people living at the encampment were injured during the incident.
When police reached the crash scene, they found that the truck driver was stuck inside the wrecked cab of his vehicle. Responders used heavy machinery to extricate the man from the wreck before placing him on an ambulance and rushing him to a nearby hospital to be given emergency care for major injuries. Updates on the man’s condition have not been provided by hospital staff.
