Two Dead Following Alleged Red Bluff DUI Crash
On Wednesday, December 9, 2020, two people lost their lives after being involved in an alleged Red Bluff DUI crash. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) stated that this crash occurred in the morning on a local highway inside of Red Bluff city limits. The two decedents were identified as 32-year-old Eddie Dallmann and 27-year-old Zoe Holt, both from Los Molinos. A GoFundMe page has been created on behalf of Ms. Zoe Holt and her family to help pay final resting expenses and support her three young daughters. A separate GoFundMe page has been created for Mr. Eddie Dallmann to help support his surviving family members.
Collision Details
CHP reports indicate that the collision occurred at around 8:15 a.m. on Highway 36, a short distance north of Tuscan Avenue. Police stated that a 26-year-old man from Red Bluff was driving on the highway in a 2017 Ford Fusion at high speeds when, for reasons that are unknown, the vehicle left the road and traveled into a nearby ditch. As the Fusion drove out of the ditch, it became airborne and struck a tree while in the air. The vehicle was seriously damaged during the incident.
Response and Arrest
CHP was alerted to the accident via phone call and immediately dispatched an emergency team to the site. When they arrived, officers found that there were four people in the vehicle, all of whom had suffered injuries. Tragically, the aforementioned individuals from Los Molinos passed away on-scene. A third passenger, identified as a 21-year-old man also from Los Molinos, was discovered with major injuries and rushed to the Mercy Medical Center to receive treatment.
The driver was also found with major injuries. The individual was placed under arrest by CHP on charges of driving under the influence before being released into the custody of medical officials. At the time of reporting, the driver was still being treated at the Mercy Medical Center.
The Impact of Fatal Accidents
After suddenly losing somebody you love in a vehicle accident, it’s common to feel intense grief, and many people experience overwhelming or even confusing emotions. Dealing with these feelings can be hard, and the process of coping with such a traumatic loss can take a long time. While coping with grief, it’s important to reach out to people in your family, friend group, and communities for support and comfort.
However, healing after a fatal crash can seem impossible if you’ve suffered serious financial damages because of your loss. For many, a fatal accident means losing their main income source or maybe no longer having access to expensive, essential services like home repair, cooking, or childcare.
Thankfully, grieving families can file wrongful death claims in order to obtain compensation for these losses. By working with a Red Bluff wrongful death lawyer, it’s often possible to claim full payments for both economic and personal damages following fatal accidents. To learn more about what payments may be available to you and your family, it’s best to speak personally with an experienced attorney.
