Vacaville Big-Rig Crash Injures Two
On Tuesday, February 18, 2020, two people suffered injuries during a Vacaville big-rig crash. The collision involved two vehicles and took place in the northeastern area of the city. Both injured individuals were taken to local hospitals to receive treatment. According to officials, both crash survivors were expected to recover from their trauma. The Vacaville Police Department (VPD) is currently investigating the accident.
Crash Details
The collision occurred during the morning on Eubanks Drive just north of the Aldridge Drive intersection. According to VPD Sgt. Jim Smith, a white pickup truck was driving north on Eubanks when, for unknown reasons, it traveled over the roadway median. As the pickup entered southbound lanes, it entered the path of an oncoming big-rig. The pickup collided head-on with the right-front side of the cab of the semi-truck.
Response
Emergency staff from the Vacaville Fire Department responded to the accident. When they arrived, they found the pickup driver trapped inside of his wrecked vehicle. After extricating the driver, officials determined that he had suffered moderate trauma and had him transported to the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Vacaville. The big-rig driver was taken to the Vaca Valley Hospital to be evaluated for serious injuries.
Investigation
As investigators continue to look into what may have caused this traumatic accident, no suspected factors have been reported. Collisions like this one are commonly caused by things that neither of the involved drivers are able to control. Such factors include things like large potholes, defective car parts, and more.
Accident Injuries
After being injured in a car accident, people are often left with injuries that have a huge impact on their lives. Recovering from an injury can be very painful and often takes a long period of time. During this time, you may need assistance with household chores or may be unable to perform your job, resulting in a loss of income.
Furthermore, medical bills can be very expensive. Many accident injuries require multiple medical procedures, as well as long-term physical therapy and medication use. Altogether, these factors can leave people in a very difficult personal and financial situation.
Recovering Damages after a Truck Accident
In order to make sure that they are able to pay medical bills as well as make up for lost wages and other damages, crash survivors are able to file personal injury claims against at-fault parties involved in the collision. However, trucking companies are usually prepared to begin building a legal defense against accident liability as soon as a collision happens. In most cases, the company will even send out their own legal team to the accident site itself in order to gather evidence and take witness statements.
To ensure that you obtain fair compensation after being involved in a big-rig crash, it’s critical to contact a Vacaville truck accident attorney as soon as you can. The sooner that your attorney is able to begin working on your case, the more effective they can be.
