Vallejo Bus Accident Injures Four

Reports from local authorities state that four people were injured in Vallejo during a crash involving two passenger vehicles and a public SolTrans bus on Friday, July 27, 2018. Vallejo Police Department (VPD) said two injured individuals were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, and two others received medical care at the accident scene. Eleven other people were reportedly involved in the crash but suffered no injuries. VPD is still investigating this accident to determine the causal factors involved.

Accident Details

A spokesman from the Vallejo Fire Department stated that the accident occurred shortly before 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Florida and Calaveras Streets just east of the I-80/Florida Street junction. Officials did not include details about how the crash took place.

Responders were sent by VPD to the accident scene directly after the crash occurred. Medics found two individuals with possibly severe injuries and called an ambulance to take them to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officials have said that the two individuals did not receive life-threatening injuries.

Investigation

While VPD is still actively investigating possible causes, officials have stated that they suspect one of the vehicle drivers may have fallen asleep while driving. However, many other factors remain under investigation, and crashes like this one are often the result of various causes. Factors commonly contributing to accidents include driver distraction, vehicle part defects, traffic violations, roadway hazards, and more.
