Vallejo Man Dies in Accident
I’m Ed Smith, a Vallejo car accident lawyer. On Monday, August 7, 2017, a man from Vallejo lost his life after being involved in a rollover vehicle collision in Solano County. The information regarding the accident that authorities have reported is included in the below blog.
Accident Details
California Highway Patrol (CHP), indicated that the crash occurred on the eastbound section of highway Interstate 80 near the off ramp onto westbound State Road 37 sometime in the early morning. CHP indicated that they do not know when, exactly, this collision happened, as there are no available witnesses to the accident.
CHP told reporters that there was only one vehicle involved in the accident. The driver of the vehicle had apparently made an unsafe turning maneuver which caused the car to overturn. CHP officers believe that it was while the car was rolling that the man was ejected through a window and suffered fatal injuries.
We extend our condolences to the family and friends of the fatally injured individual.
Additional Info
CHP has not yet released the identity of the deceased pending the notification of his next of kin. Additionally, no other persons were reported to have been injured in this collision.
Causal Factors
Authorities are currently investigating what caused this accident and have not indicated if they suspect the driver to have been intoxicated or not. Other possible causal factors include driving while distracted, speeding, dangerous maneuvers performed by other motorists, faulty roadways or vehicle parts, and more.

Those calling should ask for Officer Brunson who is in charge of the investigation.
Rollover Accidents
People are fatally injured in rollover accidents at a very high rate relative to other types of accidents. SaferCar.gov, a website founded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), reports that on average, rollover collisions only make up about 2 percent of accidents in the U.S. However, rollover collisions are responsible for around 34 percent of traffic accident fatalities. Moreover, those killed in rollover accidents were only wearing seatbelts about 35 percent of the time.
Vallejo Rollover Accidents
Rollover accidents are one of Vallejo’s least common types of injury collisions. Rollover accidents only accounted for 4.2 percent of all collisions resulting in injury in Vallejo from 2013-2016. However, data suggests that rollover accidents, though uncommon, still have a higher chance of causing severe traumatic injuries.
