Worst Driver Statistics
I’m Ed Smith, a Brentwood auto accident attorney. If you are a resident of California, you are no stranger to the common stereotype that Californians are the worst motorists in the United States. With no surprise, the following statistic report confirms that stereotype.
Worst Driver Statistics Report
A report was conducted state-to-state throughout the United States to reveal which states have the worst motorists and it even pinpoints the cities in which they are from. California, which is not shocking at all, was ranked second in the nation with the worst drivers. The report was organized by an insurance-comparison quote service company based in Seattle, QuoteWizard.com. The report also indicated that the worst drivers in California are in Anaheim, Oakland and Sacramento.
Federal Highway Administration Statistics
The report also included data that QuoteWizard.com utilized from the Federal Highway Administration website to create the precise rankings for the report. The report concluded that California was ranked:
- Driving Under the Influence: #2
- Traffic Citations: #5
- Vehicular Accidents: #7
- Speeding: #9
The report also listed the five states with the worst motorists in the United States:
- Utah
- California
- Virginia
- Maine
- Nebraska
The report also listed the five states with the best motorists in the United States:
- Rhode Island
- Florida
- Mississippi
- Michigan
- Nevada
In October 2016, a report was conducted by ValuePenguin, to declare the rankings for the most deadliest highways in the United States. California’s Highway 99, which is a popular highway used by residents of the Sacramento region, was named as the most fatal highway in America. The report indicated that there were 62.3 fatal accidents per 100 miles.
