Pilot Dies Following Grass Valley Plane Crash

On Tuesday, November 10, 2020, one person was fatally injured as the result of a Grass Valley plane crash. The decedent has since been identified by the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office as 30-year-old Rancho Cordova resident Ronald Hooper. No other individuals were reported to have been involved in the incident and the cause of the crash remains under official investigation at this time.

Crash Details

Local authorities reported that the crash happened at around 3:30 p.m.  Hooper had been piloting a Piper PA-38 Tomahawk plane and took off from the Nevada County Airport. Shortly after takeoff, Hooper reported experiencing engine problems. After he reported the issue, his aircraft crashed into a copse of trees around a mile and a half away from the airport, causing serious damage to the plane.

Emergency response officials were immediately sent to the crash scene. When they located the wrecked plane, responders discovered that Hooper had suffered severe injuries. He was placed on an ambulance and rushed to a nearby hospital. Sadly, he passed away shortly after arriving at the hospital.

Investigation

According to reports, the Federal Aviation Administration is handling the accident investigation. As investigations continue, officials haven’t indicated what factors they believe to have caused the crash.

Wrongful Death Cases

Losing somebody that you care about is never an easy thing to do, but a sudden accident can make coping with your loss even harder. Many people facing these situations feel overwhelmed and may need to take time away from their normal responsibilities in order to be with their friends and family.

However, it can be difficult to focus on emotional healing if your loss has left your family with major financial issues. A sudden loss in your family can also mean losing a source of income that you rely on or access to services that are expensive to replace, like childcare, home maintenance, cleaning, cooking, and more. Furthermore, families are also often left with medical bills for services rendered before their loved one passed. Altogether, these issues can leave families in a very difficult situation during an already traumatic time.

Calling an Attorney

Fortunately, it is possible for families to seek compensation for the damages described above. By seeking help from a Grass Valley wrongful death lawyer and filing a claim, families are frequently able to obtain payments that cover medical expenses, lost income, and damages related to personal suffering.

Finding a Trustworthy Lawyer

People in an already stressful situation often delay calling an attorney because they don’t want to deal with any more stress. However, having a lawyer early on in your case can be crucial, and it doesn’t need to be difficult to get in touch with a compassionate, experienced lawyer.
